ASICS has announced the launch of a new shoe model, GEL-NYC, inspired by classic footwear such as GEL-NIMBUS 3, GEL-MC PLUS V, and GEL-CUMLUS 16. Based on the inspiration from the original design, this shoe model adopts materials and innovative technologies that are more in line with current trends, showcasing the vibrant urban spirit of New York. In the early 2000s, several classic running shoe styles from ASICS, combined with the vibrant urban spirit of New York City, jointly achieved the creativity of the GEL-NYC series in shoe uppers and color schemes. In the early stages of development, this shoe was based on the GEL-NIMBUS 3 and incorporated various decorations from the GEL-MC PLUS V upper. The ASICS design team was able to reconstruct classic shoes, bringing them a brand new design presentation and creating more possibilities in color stitching. The GEL-NYC series color scheme this time adopts a soft yet tense combination of black and mud gray, cream and dark gray, which truly restores the iconic image of New York City. ASICS inherits the classics of the past and creates a new era, reconstructing and recreating multiple iconic running shoe design details to create GEL-NYC, a highly modern mix and match.
